Doggie Clothes

The most awesome sight is to see a baby or toddler dressed in some savvy duds. What really tickles me is to see them dolled up in a Cowboy Suit with matching hat. Nowadays there are all sorts of outfits made for children with adult themes. Some of them are comical others are completely grotesque-like dressing a kid like a hoodlum.

Second to this glory is to see a dog dressed to the nines in some beautiful clothes-replicas of what's in a human's dreams. There is everything on the market from dog boots to mink coats. However this fashion plate idea must be tempered with the reality that whatever the dogs have on must be comfortable. If Lisa the Poodle has a Tiara on is it really comfortable? Or what about Dick and his cable sweater where you almost have to break his legs to get them into those two holes beneath the luxurious turtle neck. Lest we forget that dogs have feelings too and a good dog owner just loves to see his dog feeling good.

The doggie clothes that are are available in my area are mostly for small and medium dogs like teacups, chihuahuas and Labs. One of my three dogs is very large-85lbs and 35 inches long. For several years I have not been able to find him a winter coat and the one that I bought him several years before was too small because it had shrunk along with the advent of middle age spread around my old guy's gut.

Nevertheless I put this monstrosity on him anyway as it was cold and he looked like he was doing time at the penitentiary. I searched and searched for a new coat for several years at Petco, Petland and my local pet store, but to no avail.

I finally went online to Doggie Clothesline.com and got my big fella a coat called Red Blanket in X-Large. It didn't have the Velcro whose strength wears after time but buckles with expandable straps which closes a completely opened coat. Flat it looks like a big blanket. It is lined in faux fur and his a water proof exterior. After I put it on my middle aged guy, he looked like a new dog or as my grandmother would have said "It's a feather in his cap."

My two other dogs both females have struggled with the Cable Sweaters I bought them over the years. I opted for the open Velcro coats but they got old or the girls kicked them off. I bought them a Blanket Coat too, a smaller size of course. Everything fit perfectly on the The dogs. The only qualms I had about the clothes was that it came in only two colors-blue and red-but that's trivial. So far everyone is happy and warm. The Red/Blue Blanket Coat cost on $26.00 plus shipping. But you can get Blanket Coats at Amazon.com for different prices and colors. I recommend it.
