Green tea To The Rescue

It is ironical that in Japan people smoke cigarettes like it's going out of style, but have a low incidence of heart disease. Along with the consumption of cigarettes they also drink large quantities of Green Tea. By no means is this an endorsement of cigarette smoking but rather an endorsement of the benefits of Green Tea.The ingredients which have this beneficial affect and others is the ingredient EGCg(epigallocatechin gallant) and the fact that the leaves of the plant where the tea originated are steamed rather than fermented when processing, thus, leaving large residues of the ingredient.

Green Tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinenis plant. This plant originated in China and has been used for recreational and medicinal purposes in Asia for centuries. Now with positive scientific data pointing in the direction of this tea, the western world has jumped on the Band Wagon.

People in France also have a low incidence of Heart Disease and Cancer even though they eat fatty foods and smoke, the glue which seems to bind this fortune of health is Resveratol which is in the ample Wine that they drink. But alas the EGCG found in Green Tea appears to be a  more potent anitoxident and health benefit than the Resveratrol in wine according  to  the University of Kansas.
