The Pests That Cause Itchy Fits

Imagine that someone had you and/or your life in the palm of their hands and could roll it like were dice-getting whatever combination they wanted at each roll. Terrible, awful you think -well that is what Lice can do. As these creepy crawlers become embedded in your person you itch and twitch from each assault of sucking.

Lice and Louse, plural and singular respectively are also known as Fly Babies, and are in the Phthiraptera Order which has a species of 3,000 wingless insects . Three of these species are known human disease agents; There entire lives are spent sucking on a host. They are .020 to .31 inches, have stout legs and claws which make them a cracker jack when it comes to pestering hair, fur and feathers. In addition they are wingless, pale beige to dark gray in color except when feeding on blood of the host they are much darker.

There are three types of lice that humans are susceptible to and they are head lice, body lice and pubic lice. These types are said to be so different that they have different DNA. However they still do one thing and that is cause itchy fits when they start their feeding.

The head lice often called Pediculosis strikes school children and people who congregate in dormitories a lot. There have been several outbreaks in the metropolitan area. The lice modis operandi is to build a virtual fort in the afflicted by laying eggs in the scalp; they hatch and thus the colony of lice grows and grows.

You become afflicted when the louse or lice hops off one host and goes to another. Treatment involves removing the eggs and lice from the scalp and hair. There are chemical concoctions which you can buy without a prescription and they have lice combs so you can go a digging. If you have none of those items a good dose of olive oil may help because it'll kill them.In my area there are specialists that pick and comb out the eggs and lice in the hair; they get paid a pretty penny for doing so.The symptoms for lice infection of the head is itching and on inspection of the scalp and hair, eggs and lice in those areas

Body lice presents additional problems because they live in clothing and are hard to get rid of. Some people will throw the clothing away to get rid of them others will use commercial toxins to get rid of the pests. The symptoms are uncontrollable itching throughout the body sans the pubic area. Treatment involves washing with medicated soaps and/or ointments rubbed on the body. You catch this via the natural route from another host.

The third type of lice in humans is pubic lice or what some people call crabs. Because of its location you can categorize this as a Venereal Disease and/or Sexually Transmitted Disease because contact comes via contact between pubic areas(let your imagination run wild). Those who say they caught it from sitting on a fuzzy sofa are merely in denial and speaking poppycock.

Even if folks wear condoms it won't prevent them from catching this hatching critter whose tell tale sign is uncontrollable, blood curdling itching. that sends the most disciplined people into itchy fits. Like all venereal diseases it's a two edged sword; you'd like to get cured but the stigma of an STD is too much to bear. But take heart-having a disease is not a sin or a crime.

However you should get to know your sexual partners both physically and emotionally. And if they're having itchy fits-it may be time to talk. It would be well worth your while to study about this Lice business . The more knowledge you have about the malady the better you can protect yourself. Remember once they get under your skin or any place else-they roll the dice by sucking on your blood until you have itchy fits.

Thus keep on the watch for these pests-they may be out there looking for a hot to feed off of like the ultimate parasite.
