With your parched lips and dry stomach you break out into a cold sweat. You know that you cannot live without water for very long-the experts state that you can die after three days without water.

The Desert is full of bodies felled by thirst and dehydration. The explorers and settlers braved the sands and heat of the desert in search of a better life. Indeed these are the heroes of old, diamonds in the rough who lived the good, hard life. Compared to the water faucet life it wasn't a life for wimps.

There are many water purifying systems on the market, but for our purposes we are using a scenario of Doomsday where the entire social order is about to or has been torn asunder. All that remains is human wit and wisdom. Thus we will concentrate on how to manually purify water. The following are manual ways to purify water.

1. Boiling-Boiling is when you place the water in a pot over heat and wait till the water bubbles-if it's no bubbles is just heating. 3. Pure Liquid Bleach-Use unscented, without add-ons like extra cleaning agents pure Liquid Bleach. Use one eighth teaspoon or 8 liquid drops for every gallon of water.
